Clean Carbon Black and Hydrogen Manufacturer Credits Technology Optimization and Growth in Sales for Move to Larger Lincoln, Nebraska-based Headquarters

Monolith, a Nebraska-based global leader in advanced sustainable carbon black and hydrogen manufacturing, is expanding its corporate headquarters in Lincoln. The company marked the occasion with a ribbon cutting ceremony joined by Monolith CEO and co-founder Rob Hanson, Chief Development Officer, Amy Ostermeyer, and local elected officials, including Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen. During the ceremony, Lincoln City Council Chair Tom Beckius presented a proclamation congratulating Monolith on behalf of Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird.

“Manufacturing and agriculture serve as the backbone of Nebraska’s economy, putting Nebraskans to work and enriching our communities,” said Governor Jim Pillen. “Monolith is an incredible example of Nebraska’s ability to drive innovation and job creation in both sectors. We will continue to work so our state remains the best place to grow a business, raise a family, and live in a safe neighborhood. Congratulations to the entire Monolith team for their success”

This announcement is the latest chapter in Monolith’s expansion journey in Nebraska. Monolith’s new office, located at 600 P Street in Lincoln’s Historic Haymarket District, joins two other Lincoln facilities: the Monolith Technical Center, a state-of-the art rubber laboratory on West L Street, and a 25,000 square foot warehouse in South Lincoln. Nearby in Hallam, Monolith also operates the world’s only commercially operational pyrolysis facility, Olive Creek 1, and a community-focused office on Main Street.

“Monolith’s expansion of their global headquarters here in Lincoln highlights our community’s growing reputation as a hub for innovation and sustainable development,” said Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird. “We are proud that Monolith is growing the great life in Lincoln by driving economic growth and pioneering advancements in clean technology. Congratulations to the Monolith team on this significant milestone.”

“Thanks to the years of hard work by the entire Monolith team, our company has reached another huge milestone when we officially opened our newly expanded Lincoln Headquarters,” said Rob Hanson, Monolith Co-Founder & CEO. “By growing sales of our low-emission, made-in-Nebraska carbon black, we are now shipping our products directly to customers across North America. This growth will help us create more high-paying jobs while paving the way for additional innovation and success. We are grateful for everyone who made Monolith’s growth possible.”

Through groundbreaking technology, Monolith produces clean hydrogen and carbon black, a versatile material used to produce tires, rubbers, and plastics.

“Monolith has been focused on our customers since the company was founded. It’s exciting to see that focus paying off,” says Monolith’s Chief Development Officer, Amy Ostermeyer. “Today’s celebration is all about the people who made Monolith’s Nebraska success story possible. Our team will continue to deliver low-emission products to our customers and high-paying jobs for our community.”

In 2023, the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, North America’s largest tire manufacturer, began producing tires with Monolith’s made-in-Nebraska carbon black. Since the announcement of this partnership, Monolith has continued to grow the company’s footprint and is now shipping low-emission carbon black to manufacturers across North America.
