The Mechanical Engineering Intern is responsible for assisting in outages and increasing reliability and efficiency of the Reactor and its sub-systems. They will complete well-defined, challenging projects according to their experience.
Lead an assigned design innovation/improvement project – CAD, vendor communication, work instructions, implementations, report out
Focus on providing a quality project – data sourcing and analysis, leading to inspection plans for part of a project
Perform documentation – develop documentation to deploy CoreTech technology into manufacturable parts and repeatable processes
Performs other duties as needed
Current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, material science and CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
Experience working on a technical group project
Advantageous: Machining or working around machine shops, previous technical work experience
Able to be engaged, willing to learn and be excited by unknown challenges
Comfortable working and communicating with individuals from the shop floor to upper management
Able to determine priorities and manage multiple projects, hands-on approach to problem-solving
Knowledgeable of designing, fabricating, and implementing with ease of manufacturability in mind
Able to report on projects in a professional and informative way
Willing to accept feedback and learn from experience
