Iconic Hallam Wagon Makes One More Journey
Many Hallam residents believed the historic wagon that has appeared on Main Street since approximately 2005 had made its final journey there. Not so. Thanks to Denton resident Randy Sukovaty, who won the wagon in an online auction to help raise funds through Hallam Community Connection (HCC) for the Hallam playground renovation, the wagon is making one more trip to its new home.
For close to two decades, the wagon sat outside the building at 360 Main Street, which will soon become the new Hallam Office for Monolith. Robin Burianek, Monolith’s Community Engagement Specialist and Hallam resident, is overseeing Monolith’s office renovation. She worked with the building’s owners to make the wagon available for auction as a fundraiser for the park.
“They loved the idea,” said Burianek. “It’s just another example of how community-minded the Pollack family has been when it comes to improving lives here in Hallam.”
And improve them they did. The wagon brought in $500.00 from the online auction. “We’re so grateful to Mr. Sukovaty. Purchasing this historic wagon will help make a bright future for children in Hallam,” added Burianek.
Using a small crane, a crew from Monolith helped load the historic wagon on a trailer to be moved to its new home on February 8, 2023. |

The wagon, which is ready for transport, was carefully loaded by a team from Monolith, including Jim Andel, Tom Scdoris, Hector Almanza-Martinez, Robin Burianek and Jeff Douglass. The wagon’s purchaser, Rick Sukovaty is also pictured (second from the right). |
